Ollendorf Mess-Systeme is
„Company of the month October 2007“

For 20 years Ollendorf Mess-Systeme in Brunkau has been developing software and hardware for the medical and ophthalmic branch. Until the year 1990 Ollendorf produced the diagnostic device for the congenital metabolic disease mucoviscidosis, which is still reviewed by paediatric clinics as “really good”. Only in 1994 the company got international tribute by focusing on the production of video centration systems for opticians. Company director Hans-Joachim Ollendorf is owner of several patents in this field. The first devices were sold in 1997. In the meantime Ollendorf Mess-Systeme delivers to 12 countries, since early in the year also to Australia . For five other countries, the distribution and service support is currently being established. The staff grew from 6 persons in 2004 to 24 persons now, among them 8 designing engineers and programmers.

The turnover could be quintupled during the last 2 years. The special location of the principal office is on an estate in the small village Brunkau, situated in the region Altmark. There, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Employment Dr. Reiner Haseloff handed over to Ollendorf Mess-Systeme the certitificate “Company of the month October 2007”. “Small but very nice” were the words of Mr. Haseloff, describing the company. “Who can assume, that in a in a small village aside the main road exists a company of such international recognition, competing with giants like Zeiss.” The company shows evidently that even small companies have great chances on the market, if they focus on innovative activities and own developments, being always one step ahead. Hans-Joachim Ollendorf outlines the philosophy of his company in just one short sentence: “If you settle back you will have already lost.”

For the future, beside further developing the optical systems, the project engineers around Ollendorf are also working on novel products for the medical branch. The prize “Company of the month” results from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. Respective selection criteria are among others a remarkably positive development of the company, a very large total order quantity and capturing the market through new technical and/or technological developments.
